Evil Plot #147

support team knitty!Calling all Knittyheads! Calling all Knittyheads! I'd posted this thread on the Knittyboard and am reposting it here.

Evil Plan No. 147, while Amy is on vaca..

*peeks around* Okay, I think she's gone. She, being Amy our beloved Editrex will be offline for about a week. Imagine that, AWAY from It All! Anyways if you would like to wish her a happy vacation etc. leave
her a message on the Knitty Blog.

Now, you may have noticed the post right under her away away away! post is about Team Knitty's Run for the Cure organized by The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. . The team is almost at their goal, but not quite.

Here it comes: The Idea.
Knitty is free, our forum is free, right? Best forum out there (and hey look there is a new TMI page ;) ) So we have three years of fab projects (and a mighty fine online home). How many have you made? 1? 3? 24?

Okay I know many of you have donated to many other causes but hey, how about a dollar for every Knitty pattern you have made? You can donate to the cause by credit card here or the paypal account for Team Knitty , button is on this Knittyblog archive page

Lets get Team Knitty to goal! Support The Boobs!!
Please help spread the woid!

UPDATE: Hey look! Now there's an obnoxious button (as seen on the sidebar) for those of you who want to help spread the word! (You are most welcome to link right to it if you don't want to putz around with uploading it to your own server).

And a big Grazie to Knitting by Moonlight, Fiberlicious and Beavercraft (that blog name makes me cackle, in a good way) for getting the word out.

I've dug back thru the archives and FOs, to date from Knitty I've done:

Fall 02 3timesChic, still in bag waiting for Short rows to be put in.

Winter 02 A Capella. Love this patt, made 2 for myself, 3 for gifts. Also from this issue Nosewarmers, 2, for Kiddo and I. We cluck a lot when we wear 'em. Yes, we are easily amused.

Winter 03 French Market Bag, even started a KAL for it :) and a Kyoto knock off which I'd dubbed "Hiro" for kiddo. Spring 04 Sueet, did three, one The Other Sueet, the Aleph Sueet and the Sueetone. Breast Cancer awareness issue the heart scarf.

Fall 04 Cozy. Three Clapoti, one for myself, one for kiddo and one gift. Unbiased, just had to check out the construction.

Winter 04 Womb because, well how could you not? Wavy two of 'em.

Then the 4 patt models (Mancala Mia, Via diagonale, Ella(3 of 'em) and Lucky) makes a total of 25 FOs (if I can count today) due to Knitty. Fortunately not counting WIPs, UFOs and FWIPs (future WIPs) hehe.

So, if you are so inclined a buck a pattern isn't so much to ask is it? BTW, does it make me a Bad Person because I was happy they found a form of breast cancer that gets men boobs? Immediately thought we'll be even closer to a cure once the men start researchin' it. *shrugs*

What a great idea Wendy! I just counted it up and I've completed 12 knitty projects. Way more than I was aniticipating of course most of them are FuzzyFeet *grin* This also coincides nicely with my last paycheck from my summer job. I'll post about it on my blog as well after I make my donation.

Oh thanks for helping spread the word Lizz!!

Great idea! I counted it up, and I've made 12 and have one I'm going to cast on this weekend, so I threw in my $13. A buck a pattern makes it all kinds of easy. Thanks for spearheading this one!

I'm in, I'll pimp it on my blog too.

The only thing that makes doing a good deed more delicious is knowing it's part of an Evil Plan! Ingenious, no?

I think I must have knit at least six patterns from Knitty, so off I go!

Thanks for the reminder Wendy ..... I popped over & and made my contribution to saving the ever loved NumNums!! I'd better start knitting so I can catch up to my contribution - lol

Well, I'm relatively new to Knitty, so while I haven't made anything from there yet, I have printed out some patterns to make in the future. So I made a "pre-emptive strike" and donated based on how many patterns I'd LIKE to make :)

I think it sounds demeaning, bucks for boobs. Sounds like something for strippers, what man tricked us into thinking that degrading ourselves for fun was feminist and free?

Posted by: C at September 30, 2005 06:38 PM

I highly doubt it was a man.
But then feminism doesn't really come into play here.
