Beware The Swan

It's confirmed. We're all gonna die. Death has flown in on white feathered wings. Yes, the bird flu is HERE IN MY PROVINCA. From Russia With Love MY ASS! We have swans dropping outta the sky. Bags of bones and feathers just teeming with the avianflucrap. Want updates? Repubblica.it has them, in Italiano.

Somebody hold me.

Oh yes and a note about the previous post.

I hearby state I was not referring to a specific blogger when I posted my post.

I only replied to one of you stating I had no idea who your person was. After I searched my archives I see I was incorrect, I had indeed linked to one of her previous posts back in May when she posted about blogger cliques and popularity. The link was sent to me. It was an interesting post I hadn't pondered much on nor much since, still wondering where I can read those "rebel" knitbloggers. I hadn't read her blog since then. Suffice to say it isn't one of my regular knitblog gawks.

And to those who sent in emails thinking your regular blog read was The One I was referring to, uh no, but thanks for the nastygrams.

And for those of you who thought I was referring to you specifically - you know Carly Simon wrote a song about you, right?

Yes gentle (and gentile) non-knitting readers, knitbloggers are something else.

A piu' tard.

Why is bureaucrat-speak the same the world over? "Be cautious, but not alarmed. Don't panic."

Whatever you do, don't touch any bird corpses.

There's a great part of the book A Short History of a Small Place where the town tries to get rid of pigeons by poisoning them. Only they don't give them enough poison, so they end up flying and then dying and the townspeople are all running around with garbage cans trying to catch them as they fall so they don't touch them. But a whole swan? Maybe you should wear the garbage can on your head whenever outside.(I know this is tragic, but I can't help the images in my head...)

HA, almost thinking I should make out a will for my stash, just in case.

DON'T you talk like that! Be extra-super-duper careful, and that's all you can do. Freaking out about it won't stop anything, and will just make you (and probably Kiddo) an emotional wreck!

I'd read earlier "some people" were blaming the Israelis for inventing the bird flu [if I roll my eyes they'll most likely just pop right outta my head]. Right.

Not freaking out on a high level , just on the alert for the swan song.

YUCK.
