Women's Day
Happy Women's Day. Let us not forget those women who have shaped our lives and let us be a positive force in those lives we influence.
Let us not forget those who live in entirely different circumstances, those which have no voice, those which are not seen. Speak up, speak out, "culture" is never justification for atrocity.
Two symposiums on today's reads:
On NRO - Women The World Should Know
On FrontPage To Rape an Unveiled Woman. Lengthy, in depth, a lot of insight and rather unnerving.
And a reminder, things are worse than, well, just worse. On the Miami Herald - (Of course being an MSM article the obligatory blaming of W is in there) - Face to Face With Genocide.

Here's to good women.
May we know them.
May we raise them.
May we be them.

Cheers to you, an amazing woman. I listened to your Zibcast yesterday, and I must say that I'd love to spend hours sipping drinks in the Sicilian sun chatting about yarn, politics, etc. We'd have to agree to disagree on a few topics, but I love to listen to an opposing opinion when it's delivered by a bright, intelligent, eloquant woman such as yourself. Happy Woman's Day!

thank you for the links - honestly, as a lurker at your blog, i have learnt so much about so many different things, different perspectives. it's fantastic. and inspiring me to go home and have another look at... that seminal book on rape, by brownmiller that i put down because her lack of referencing facts irritated me.
happy women's day to you!

Zib,
Like other commenters have posted, I agree, you are a woman for all women. You are an inspiration for me. You don't realize how you touch some of us. From Sicily to South Carolina I carry your positive vibes with me during times of "need". True my "time of need" is NOTHING compared to others. I'm truly blessed and live a full, exciting life. But, I am an outspoken person and some would love me for me to back down. Women like you help those like me realize we aren't bad for speaking our minds. I hope that makes sense.
Love, Ali
