sidetrack

I just don't understand people who work on one project at a time. Even before I started writting er typing/graphing what I'm doing I could not remain faithful to one WIP. Actually it never occurred to me to do so. I won't even attempt to wrap my mind around the whole buy yarn just for one project deal. When I was taking a pic of the blue square to spare I shot the daily table as well because sometimes I wonder just what the hell I've been doing with the time I have. Time which ends tomorrow (last day of school).

That was the 4th. Cast on the blue square as soon as I'd read about the project. Cotton of the dishcloth class I picked up from The LOYM the last time I actually saw him. I think he may have retired as I have NOT seen him in months. The last time I was at the market there was a big table with a couple selling cheap cosmetics in his spot. Still, every time I head to the market, first stop is the LOYM's spot. So with one of the lonely blue balls of cotton I got my seed stitch groove on.

I worked on the design chart for the KFTC wraplette. The merino is waiting right over there. Using a neutral wool to make stitch count verification easier and WTFs easier to spot while I work towards The Repeat. I'm surprised I didn't notice before I was cropping images.

After the new MagKnits came out I couldn't stop thinking about a mesh type bag. I wanted to work the bottom as a pocket that the works can be folded inside of when not in use. After working 40 rows over 3 inches in the stitch pattern I decided to skip the fold-inside-itself pocket on the base for this bag with a note to do that on the next one, or the next next one.

If I have enough yarn left over I'll add one at the top, change bag + bag storage. That'll work. Simple mesh, striped body. If I can find a couple D-rings I'll add straps and a drawsting at the top to make it a backpack. Using Elann's Sonata(yay it's back), 3 balls.

While I was working on the above bag The Man saw I was sketching out other bag ideas. He sketched out a quick variation which incorporated an idea from last summer that I never got around to. I resisted casting on for about ten minutes. I couldn't help it. It was simply perfect for the Filatura di Crosa Millefili Fine that had been patiently lurking in the stash.

The colors! The colors! I dig 'em.

And the sheen, swoonerific.

Working it on 3.75mms. Merc cotton always demands your attention. Perhaps that is why I don't knit to relax or gain focus etc. etc. Distraction makes for oopsies. Didn't catch that until cropping either. I can't even find the split when looking at the WIP.

On the spindle, more silk, of course. Need to get some more of the Millefili Fine, have a couple other ideas that need to be swatched up rather soon. Oh how I love the cottone!

Big Ass WIP.

The picture with the blues square, the spindle, the basket of yarn, and that luscious chocolate yarn is beautiful. The bag.....I must have that bag. No, I'm not knitting one, I want the very one you knit. Whenever I come to Casa Zib that is what I shall steal. :)

Your new camera seems to be agreeing with you!

Lovely yarns, cool WIPs.

My first two or three knitting projects were serial monogamy: buy the yarn, make the sweater, return the extra balls, repeat. By sweater three, I was stashing ahead of my ability to knit. I think that's because the designing switch flicked to "on" and that's what really feeds the hording.

Such a brilliant idea to add a pocket like that. i am planning on adding a small pocket to mine as is (I'm only 12 rows in but loving knitting it). Yours looks soo nice! Everything of yours is. :)

I'm still trying to train husband on concept of stash. Just because I have some babies to knit for does not mean that I have appropriate stash. *sigh*

Oh I have so many WIP's it's not even funny! I have a UFO that is taunting me that is over one year old. I'm not really sure when or if I will ever finish it. I think I just keep it around to taunt me. Hell, someone has to do it. ;)

I might turn to cotton just to play with those colors of the millefili fine. Love those colors!

I love the colors. Last night was my first night of knitting in ages, and let's just say monogomy isn't my thing with knitting :).

Glad to see you, zib. Been away from my comp, will be for a few more days, and it's been tough!
