Uhm, OH Canada?
Would one of you lovely Canadian readers tell me if this article is serious re the "...it is difficult to find a common denominator." theme or if the piece is a brilliant bit of sarcasm?
I believe I am missing something here.

am not Canadian.
Don't understand your questions.
Hm.
I think it is really hard to prove suspicions of terrorism. After all, saying that they are Muslim does not suffice to say they are terrorist. That's how I understand that half sentence you quoted.
How to prove suspicions?
(the same, in my mind, as: how to prove my ex is dangerous for my life and my ds's life? very hard to prove, so we have to wait until he kills us so police will believe us and will protect the lives of others)

I read so many really poorly written newspaper stories, and this is another example. I wonder if the paragraphs that would have made it coherent and informative ended up on the cutting room floor, so to speak. It seems like the angle this reporter focused on is not the one that makes it news.

Hey all, Im from Toronto: here's my two cents.
You can't just say they only thing they have in common is Islam. Some of the suspects are teenagers, some adults. Some go to the same highschool, others the same mosque. Some are born in Canada, others are immigrants. Some are Canadians, some aren't.
To boil it down, Islam and the fact that they are Canadian residants are the the only thing that ALL of the suspects have in common. Well, that and being accused wannabe-terrorists.
