Two.

The easiest pattern repeat of all the baskets, and as the others rather versitile. Larger needles, bulkier yarn, knit sides taller/shorter for diverse results. Examples knit using 4mm DPNS. Finished measurements: Left greens basket: 5"wide 3"high. White cotton w/ varigated: 5"wide 3"high. For pattern purposes I will be giving directions for making the basket to the left here.

Directions

CO 63 sts in MC.
Knit 1 round.

Mosaic Pattern

Rnd 1 & 2 (MC) : Knit

Rnd 3 & 4 (CC) : * S1, K2 *

Repeat until desired height.

Knit two more rounds.

Bottom

Rnd 1 : * K7, K2tog *

Rnd 2 : Knit

Rnd 3 : * K6, k2tog *

Rnd 4 : Knit

Rnd 5 : * K5, k2tog *

Rnd 6 : Knit

Rnd 7 : * K4, k2tog *

Rnd 8 : * K3, k2tog *

Rnd 9 : * K2, k2tog *

Rnd 10 : * K1, k2tog *

Rnd 11 : * K2tog * continue until 4 sts remain.

Cut tail and thread thru remaining 4 sts, pull thru to inside of basket. Weave in ends.

I-cord Brim

With MC (or a CC) cast on 4 sts. Work attached I-cord around entire top edge. Bind off, weave in ends. Block.
